Livin’ Easy

Whoo! Summer is well under way and I am having a blast! After spending a week on vacation with my family, I came home to celebrate three birthdays almost back to back: a dear friend’s, my dear husband’s and (of course) America’s! It was so much fun!
After so much relaxing and playing, I was a little sad to go back to work today; however it turned out to be just as much fun. I started a new job as a nanny for a little boy in San Jose. We spent the morning putting together a fire truck puzzle, playing “sneakily-turn-the-light- on -while –Kathryn- is –“sleeping”– and- giggle –madly- when- I- get- caught”, and then went for a long, leisurely  walk full of questions and stabbing fallen oranges with a pointy stick. It was delightful. You would think spending the morning playing with an active three-year old would be tiring, but I feel strangely refreshed. I feel so blessed to be working for this family. They have such a sweet and peaceful atmosphere in their home. I will be sad to leave them at the end of August when my “client” starts preschool.
In the mean time, I’m still tutoring at Sylvan (another job I love) and looking for something full-time for the fall. I’ve been very lucky in the summer work I’ve found. Hopefully lightning will strike the same place once more?
Peace and joy,

Kathryn
